How I Got My Latest Pay Raise

Our facilities manager recently put me in charge of sourcing components that we could install to allow more of our facility to be accessible. I knew about ErectaStep, having previously purchased from them, so that was where I went to find metal crossovers. I liked that their parts could be easily configured and then repurposed at a later date if desired.

Their parts are modular and affordable and are made of galvanized steel. Plus everything is OSHA approved. The metal crossovers they make including the stairs and platforms will enable us to gain safe access over pipes and other obstructions that are presently in the way. Three platforms can be bolted together in a series without tower supports, providing up to 9' of linear clearance. Check out this photo to see what we ultimately purchased. Our stairs have four steps though.

I like that all of their components are high precision, robot and laser cut and welded. Their stairs and platforms are stamped for the highest accuracy and strength available. All of the components they make share bolt hole patterns which allows for fast configurations. No welding or fabrication is required for construction using their parts.

So the building manager is pretty happy with the configuration and materials I designed and purchased. Delivery was fast and I was able to knock it together over a weekend. He walked in Monday and was stunned. Now, there’s a raise in the works for me!
